PROJECT SUMMARY
The Mapping Project: Visualizing Research for Trauma-Informed Education
The Coalition for Compassionate Schools had gathered valuable research about trauma-informed educational initiatives, but communicating those findings to diverse audiences required more than a traditional report. The opportunity was to create an experience that could transform complex research into an accessible story, helping educators, advocates, and community organizations better understand both the challenges and opportunities within this work.
I designed and developed an interactive microsite that guided visitors through the project's findings, definitions, resource maps, and key insights. Rather than presenting information as a static collection of data points, the experience used narrative structure, interaction, and motion design to create moments of discovery and connection throughout the journey.
Built in Webflow and enhanced with custom GSAP-powered animations, the site used scroll-based storytelling techniques to reveal information progressively and reinforce key ideas. A companion impact report extended the work into print, creating a unified communication system across digital and physical formats.
The result was a more engaging and approachable way to share research, enabling stakeholders to explore the findings in a format that felt informative, human-centered, and actionable.
